Kalinchowk Bhagwati Pilgrimage

Kalinchowk Bhagwati is one of the most revered manifestations of the goddess Bhagwati in Nepal — a stone idol inside a small temple at 3,842 m in Dolakha that draws tens of thousands of pilgrims each year, particularly during Chaitra Dashain (March–April) and Bada Dashain (October). Devotees ride the Kalinchowk cable car or hike 2–3 hours from Kuri village at 3,500 m. The summit temple offers jaw-dropping views of Gaurishankar, Langtang, and the entire eastern Himalaya. The spiritual atmosphere at dawn puja — bells, incense, and offerings against a snow-covered Himalayan backdrop — is unlike anywhere in the valley.
